Ready for Relay: Annual cancer society fundraiser set for Friday night

It's time once again for McDuffie County residents to celebrate life and break records. The 11th annual local Relay for Life begins at 6 p.m. at Thomson High School. The overnight event celebrates cancer survivorship and raises money for research and programs of the American Cancer Society.

Relay for life raises more than $250,000

The final tally is huge. August 31 marked the deadline for the 2007 Relay For Life, and McDuffie County's total is $250,613.51.

Relay ready: Annual fundraiser is Friday night

This year's Relay for Life looks to be another record-breaking event. With a goal of $225,000 in mind, participants across McDuffie County have been raising money for the American Cancer Society most of the year.

Thomson Plastics holds Relay party for employees
	Thomson Plastics, Inc. employees cooked hotdogs and hamburgers on May 10 and 11 to raise money for the Relay for Life. On Friday, desserts were also sold to add to the collections.
