Relay for Life cheers effort in 12th year
	This year's McDuffie County Relay For Life raised $183,000, Co-Chairman Bob Knox announced at the annual celebration luncheon recently.

One of the top Relays For Life in the country will not take place next year. At the annual Relay For Life final luncheon, Co-chairman Bob Knox made the announcement that McDuffie County will take a year off.

	McDuffie County's annual Relay for Life was held last Friday night on the track behind Thomson High School.

	The main course is finished, but there are still a few leftovers to be served. This year's McDuffie County Relay For Life, themed "Cooking Up a Cure," ended at midnight last Friday night.

	Cancer survivors were holding their sides and wiping their eyes last Wednesday evening at the annual Survivors' Banquet before the Relay For Life. The 145 survivors, and even more caregivers, couldn't stop laughing as keynote speaker Anita Cummings delivered her philosophy of life as a cancer survivor.

Dancing for a cause
