THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Clarence L. Simons, 81, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007, in Thomson Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, December 28, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sonny Peevy officiating. Burial was in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Simons was a native McDuffie County. He was retired from Thomson Oak Flooring and he was a farmer. He was a member of Mesena United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ethel G. Simons, a brother, Howard (Skip) Simons and a niece, Joan Y. Palmer.
He is survived by his sister, Helen S. Purdy, Thomson; nephews, Jack L. Yelton, Jr., Mesena, and Sidney Simons, Mokane, Mo.; nieces, Peggy S. Benson, Thomson, and Jeannie S. Wells, Boneville; great nieces, Marsha Mooney, Kimberly S. Carter, and Marie Knox; and a host of cousins.
Pallbearers were W. F. Norris, Sonny Pierce, Russell Burkey, Vernon Burkey, Rolf Gunnels, and Larry Rachels.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
