AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at his residence, Mr. Max V. Kennedy, beloved son, father, brother, uncle and grandfather.
Mr. Kennedy was born in Rome, Italy, and lived in Augusta most of his life. He served his country in the U.S. Army, where he was recognized as the youngest Drill Sergeant to date. He was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include his mother, Stella R. Kennedy of Augusta, his father, Wayne A. Kennedy of Thomson, sisters; Patricia Johnson of Augusta, Marilyn Yohe of Augusta and Maureen McKinnon of Texas, brothers; Wayne Kennedy, Jr. of Augusta, Kyle Kennedy of Thomson and the late Ronald Kennedy, daughters; Joy Fordham (John Duncan Fordham) of Augusta and Desmarae Kennedy of Augusta, granddaughter, Harleigh Fordham and numerous loving nephews and nieces.
Funeral services with military honors were held in the Chapel of Bellevue Memorial Gardens on Saturday, December 30, 2006, at 2 p.m.
Pallbearers were Wayne Kennedy, Jr., Gene Criswell, John D. Fordham, Stan Yohe, Kyle Kennedy and Kevin Jones.
