Local high school players honored for on-field performance

One player from each local high school football team was recently given All-State honors in their respective classifications.

Thomson defensive back Vincent Scott received honorable mention status on the AAA All-State team. Scott racked up 61 total tackles and an interception on defense during his senior defensive campaign and caught one pass for a 31-yard touchdown on offense, according to thomsonfootball.com.

Bulldog fullback LaBrandon Hudson was named to The Augusta Chronicle's All-Area second team, as was defensive linemen Deltrick Sneed. Quarterback Anthony "Pooh" Erwin, defensive backs Rodney Roberts and Scott were named honorable mention.

Warren County quarterback Tommy Seals received honorable mention on the A All-State team. He was also named to The Chronicle's All-Area second team along with offensive linemen Jacobian Blount and Ivory Story.

Other Screaming Devils to make All-Area honorable mention were Demetris Harris, Kentrell Latimore, Foster Moss, Quadrez Reese, Quamaine Walker, Maquell Williams and Maquez Williams.

Last month, The McDuffie Mirror reported that Briarwood offensive and defensive lineman Chase Wilson had been named to the Georgia Independent School Association's AA All-State team.
