Marcus Matthews of Lincolnton was recently honored by Augusta Magazine with his selection as one of the most outstanding professionals in the Central Savannah River Area.

A feature article focusing on Mr. Matthews and other honorees appeared in the November/December issue of LOUNGE magazine, an Augusta Magazine bi-monthly publication. The additional selections in the "Five Under 35" category included a professor, human resources leader, pharmacist/business owner, and a minister.
Mr. Matthews is also the current "Teacher of the Year" at Augusta Technical College having been chosen by his peers to receive this special award. He is a graduate of Lincoln County High School where he excelled in the classroom and on the gridiron. Mr. Matthews is also a graduate of Augusta State University and Augusta Technical College where he is the Horticulture Department Chairman and Instructor.
Mr. Matthews is the son of Randall and Mary Anne Matthews of Lincolnton.
