Mr. Charles Marshall Ray, Jr.
Retired Farmer, Manager - Happy Valley Processing Co.

NORWOOD, Ga. - Mr. Charles Marshall Ray, Jr., 79, beloved husband of Mrs. Jessie J. Ray, died Saturday, January 5, 2008, at Warrenton Health and Rehab Center.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2008, at the Norwood United Methodist Church with Eddie Carrell officiating. Burial followed in the Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Ray, a native and life long resident of Warren County, was a retired farmer and manager with Happy Valley Processing Company. He was a life long member of Norwood United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie J. Ray; three sons, Charlie Ray of Knoxville, Tenn., Doug (Glenda) Carrell of Norwood, Eddie (Paula) Carrell of Knoxville, Tenn.; one daughter, Jan C. (Randy) Stewart of Ann Arbor, Mich.; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and special friends, Susan and Phil Smith of Norwood.

Pallbearers were Donald Palmer, David Carrell, Brian Stewart, Mark Stewart, Daniel Stewart, and Henry Wood.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.

Lowe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
