GILBERT, S.C. - Mrs. Sadie Smith Barton, 85, went to be with the Lord Monday, January 1, 2007.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Thursday at First Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Davis and the Rev. Bruce Fox officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Born in Dearing, she was a daughter of the late William and Zada Jane Reeves Smith. She was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters and son-in-law, Jane (Phil) Martin of Gilbert, Jackie Brown of Buford, Ga., and Dottie Boatwright of Columbia; son and daughter-in- law, J.P. (Janice) Barton, Jr. of Aiken; brother, Ralph Smith of Bradenton, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack P. Barton, Sr.
