On Dec, 10, more than 500 high school band students from the CSRA competed for honored positions in the Georgia Music Educators District 10 Honor Band.
Thomson High School had 12 Students that won positions in the group, seven alternates and seven students that qualified to go to the second round All-State audition. These students were:
GMEA District 10 Honor band members 2006: Sarah Bass - Flute, Sarah Weaver - Flute, Luke Kellogg - Clarinet, Orion Palmer -Clarinet and Alto Clarinet, Jessica Harris - Clarinet, Carly Ussery - Alto Sax, Jamar Morgan - Alto Sax, Kalyn Kitchings - Tenor Sax, Amanda Davis - Horn, Tim Pounds - Trombone, Vontegius Burnett - Tuba, and Jacob Powers - Percussion
Alternates were: Clara McDaniel - Clarinet, Josh Unoker - Tenor Sax, Amy Weimar - Horn, Andrea Culpepper - Trumpet, Katherine Timmerman - Bassoon, Marquez Belton - Bass Clarinet, and Ajalia Brinson - Percussion

The District Honor Band clinic will be held March 2-4 at West Acres Baptist Church in Evans. The concert will be on March 4.
