Mr. Jack Porter Wall, Sr.
MARIETTA, Ga.- Mr. Jack Porter Wall, Sr., an avid runner and World War II veteran, died Friday, January 7, 2005 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
He is survived by his wife, Delene C. Wall; sons, Jack Porter Wall, Jr., Randall E. Wall (wife, Lynnea), David M. Wall (wife, Holly), Peter A. Conrady and grandsons, R.J. Wall and Brandon George.
A beloved husband and father, Jack was born in Thomson, and had been a resident of the Atlanta area for more than 30 years. He was a member of Smyrna First Baptist Church. He was a retired member of IBEW and worked with several organizations including White Electric, Cleveland Electric and Signal Point Systems. Jack was a long time member of the Atlanta Track Club and participated in 22 Peachtree Road Races and two Dallas White Rock Marathons among various other races in and around the Southeast. Known for his love of Dixieland jazz music and use of southern colloquialisms, he was indeed 'mighty fine'.
A funeral service was held at Smyrna First Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Steve Kimmel officiating. Interment followed at Kennesaw Memorial Park. Arrangements by H. M. Patterson & Son, Canton Hill, 1157 Old Canton Road, Marietta, GA 30068.
