Mr. John William Neal
Retired Farmer

NORWOOD, Ga. - Mr. John William Neal, 94, died Saturday, January 13, 2007, at Warrenton Health and Rehab Center.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at Norwood Baptist Church with Rev. John Jenkins officiating. Burial followed in the Scruggs Cemetery.

Mr. Neal, a native of Jefferson County, was the son of the late Mr. John William, Sr., and Della Irby Neal. He was a retired farmer and owner of Neal's Garage. He was a member of Williams Creek Baptist Church. However, in later years he attended the Norwood Baptist Church.

Survivors include a stepson Virgle Thorne, Boneville, stepdaughter Avis Higgins, Jacksonville Fla.; three grandchildren: Edna McCart, Stone Mountain, Ga., Sherry Barnes, White Plains, Ga., and Jennifer Lee, Snellville Ga.; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Thomaston, Floyd Williams, Guy Shivers, Jr, Tommy Neal, Roy Johnson, Tommy Harwell, Craig Slade and Woody McCart. Honorary pallbearers were Virgle Thorne, M. W. Callaway, Sr, and George Hughes.

Lowe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
