WARRENTON, Ga. - Mrs. Lura Dean Sturgis Lowe departed this life on Thursday, January 5, 2006, at Warrenton Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Lura Dean was born on April 8, 1907 to the late Mr. Elijah and Annie (Bell) Sturgis, of Thomson. She accepted Christ and joined the Green Branch Baptist Church at an early age. Later in life, she married Mr. Willie Lowe of Thomson. To this union eight children were born - two sons and six daughters. Her husband and four daughters preceded her in death, Willie Pearl, Louise, Annie Kate and Barbara Jean.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Roger Lee Lowe of Jewell, James (Marie) Lowe; two daughters, Mrs. Clemenette Bentley and Willie Mae Lowe, all of Thomson; 22 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 47 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 10, at Green Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Battle, Jr., and Pastor Rev. Andrew Grant officiating.
Crawford Pinkston Roberts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
