These students have been preparing for the past several months for the District Band and All State auditions.
The District Honor Band consists of many students from the Augusta area. Students must go through an audition process consisting of scales, solos and sight-reading. From the hundreds of students that audition, the most outstanding are chosen to participate in the band. All of students listed above were among the best in the region.
Thomson had two students that qualified for the All State audition this year: Amanda Davis and Tiffany Timmerman. Students who score high enough at the district level have the opportunity to try out for the All State Band. The All State band consists of students from the entire state of Georgia. If the students make the All State band they will be performing with the top band students from the entire state of Georgia.
