Several Thomson Middle School students attended All District Band Auditions at Lakeside Middle School on Dec. 8, 2003 with 24 other middle schools in District 10. The audition consisted of scales, sight reading, and a prepared solo. Thomson Middle School had 5 students selected for all -- District and three alternates for a total of 8 students that were recognized. Congratulations to:

B.J. Markley, First Alternate -- French Horn
TMS also had 12 students selected to attend the University of Georgia Midfest clinic.
Those students traveled to Athens, Ga. on Dec. 11-13 to participate in clinic bands directed by renowned guest conductors from all over the U.S. The students auditioned for placement in one of eight bands, with two TMS students earning first chair in their section.
Each band performed a concert on Dec. 13 to conclude the festival. Those students were:
Kim Cujas, Kalyn Kitchings, Jessica Harris, Michelle Loper, Haley Barker, Molly Edmondson, Stacy King, Courtney Timmerman, Tim Pounds, Sarah Bass, Josh Unokur and Jaqueris Bouttry.
