Screaming Devils top sub-region standings

WARRENTON, Ga. - They may be undefeated in their sub-region, but the Warren County High Screaming Devils still have room for improvement, said Head Coach Brian Wallace.

"We've got to play more aggressively on the offensive side of our game," Coach Wallace said after his Screaming Devils handily defeated the visiting Lincoln County Red Devils 86-44 last Friday night. "We're doing well, defensively speaking. But offensively, we need to step it up a notch or two."

The win over Lincoln County was Warren County's second of the week. Just three days earlier, they defeated Aquinas of Augusta. The team now sports an 8-4 overall record and an undefeated Sub-Region 7-A (B) record of 4-0.

As several crucial games await the Screaming Devils down the road, Coach Wallace contends that his team must do the little things to win games, such as staying focused and steadily improving from game to game.

"We've got to get better, if we're going to be the team I think we are capable of becoming," Coach Wallace added.

In the game against Lincoln County, Warren County had no trouble, whatsoever. In fact, if ever there was a mismatched game, this was it. The Screaming Devils wasted no time, whatsoever, establishing that they wanted to win the game. By halftime, Warren County had managed to build up an impressive 40-26 lead.

With just 3:21 left in third quarter action, the Screaming Devils went up 50-29 following a pair of free-throws by senior Tommy Seals.

Seniors Ticaro Heath and Daniel Crawford excited the crowd with their hot-shooting on the night. Both shot three three-point goals to lead Warren County, who as a team shot a total of 10 three-pointers. Heath finished with 18 points, while Crawford tossed in a total of 13.

Others scoring in the game for the Screaming Devils included: Tommy Seals, 9, C.J. Williams, 8, Travis Burley, 8, Kentrell Latimore, 7, Montavious Erwin, 7, Stanley Johnson, 6, Jonathan Lewis, 6, Devon Walls, 2, and Andrew Webb, 2.

Warren County was scheduled to play Glascock County's Panthers in Gibson on Tuesday night.
