Mr. Thomas J. "T.J." Connor
Retired diesel mechanic

HIAWASSEE, Ga. - Thomas J. "T.J." Connor, 78, died Friday, January 19, 2007, in the Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, Ga.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday January 22, 2007, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Harold Ledford officiating. Burial followed in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens in Grovetown.

Mr. Connor was born January 9, 1929, in Columbia County, a son of the late Luther and Cora Myers Connor. He retired after 40 yeas as a diesel mechanic. He also owned and operated a commercial office furniture company in Tampa, Fla., and retired nine years ago, moving to Hiawassee.

Mr. Connor is survived by wife Ollie Connor of Hiawassee, son, Mike (Marnie) Connor of Maitland, Fla., two step-children, Dewayne (Anne-Marie) Reeves and Jeff Reeves both of Phoenix, Ark., five grandchildren, Jennifer Reeves of Columbus, Ga., Larry, Jeff and Jason Froemming, of Fla., and Laura Stenstrom, of Fla., seven great grandchildren, Alyse Carrero, Shelby Stenstrom, Mackenzie, Bridget, Jacob, Gretchen and Samantha Froemming all of Fla., three brothers, Luther Connor, Jr., and Ned H. Connor both of Hiawassee, and George B. "ToeJoe" Connor of Augusta, four sisters, Connie Hill and Ida Lee Driver both of Dearing, Gloria Crosby, Grovetown, and Jonnie Murphy of Martinez, brothers in-law, sisters in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Curtis Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
