THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Crecy Jones Paschal was born December 15, 1915, in McDuffie County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jabus and Katie (White) Jones.
Having been reared in a Christian home, Mrs. Crecy found spiritual guidance at an early age. As a youth, she was baptized at the Liberty Hill A.M.E. Church. Later on, she transferred her membership to Greater St. James Church.
She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Mancie Paschal, Sr.; to this union, they were blessed with 10 wonderful children. Her husband, Mr. Mancie, Sr., and son, John, preceded her in death.
In 1971, she heard the Third Angel's message and was baptized at Ebenzer SDA church in Augusta. She served as an usher and deaconess at Ebenezer. After some time, she transferred her membership to Canaan Heights where she served faithfully as an usher and deaconess.
Survivors are Mancie (Pauline) Paschal, Jr., Percy Paschal, Willie (Esther) Paschal and Mary Ann (Willie) Castleberry, all of Thomson; Jennie Cody, Katie (Willie James) Jeffery and Brenda Clements, both of Atlanta; Mildred (Arthur) Fairfax, St. Matthews, S.C., George (Dorothy) Paschal of Decatur; and many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2006, at Canaan Heights SDA Church, 1091 Dallas Drive in Thomson, with Pastor Brennan Francois officiating. Internment was in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Crawford Pinkston Roberts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
