THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Melvin Ivey Ansley, 64, died Wednesday January 24, 2007, in the McDuffie Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007. Graveside services were held in the Ansley Family Cemetery at White Oak United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jim Tirko officiating.
Mr. Ansley was a native of Thomson, a 1960 graduate of Thomson High School and a life-long member of the White Oak United Methodist Church. He was employed with Hughes Furniture for more than 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Luther A. and Vivian Ivey Ansley, and is survived by sister, Melba Leann Ansley of Thomson, adopted son, Taylor Strode of Conway, S.C., four aunts, Amlee Stone of Sumter, SC, Sarah Norris of Dearing, Betty Hobbs of Grovetown, and Frances Montgomery of Augusta, several cousins, his family at Hughes Furniture, and numerous friends.
In lieu of flowers family requests that donations be made to the White Oak Camp Ground, P.O. Box 1834 Thomson, GA 30824.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
