McDuffie Regional Medical Center CEO Douglas Keir announced on Tuesday that Paramedic Tim Edwards, had been promoted to the Director of Emergency Medical Services, effective February 1, 2006.
The EMS department has been Mr. Edwards' work home for the past 25 years. He began as a Basic EMT and became a Paramedic in 1987. For the last eight years, he has served as the assistant director to Jane Rogers.
"His knowledge and experience in handling the administrative duties make him the most qualified individual for this position," Mr. Keir said. "We are very fortunate that someone of his caliber and with his work ethics is interested and willing to step up and lead that department. Filling Ms. Rogers' shoes will not be an easy task however; Tim has demonstrated over the years that he is a very talented, loyal and competent associate, with excellent leadership abilities."
Mr. Edwards said he hopes to continue and further working relationships with other EMS departments in the cities and counties of the CSRA.
