Thomson High to administer state writing test

Thomson High School will administer the pilot test for the new Georgia High School Writing Test (GHSWT) on Feb. 15.

The purpose of the pilot test is to assist the Georgia Department of Education in making necessary adjustments before the revised GHSWT takes effect in September 2006.This pilot test will be given to all current sophomores and should be treated as a practice test for those students who will take the required test for the first time in September 2006.

THS will use these individual results to determine those students in need of additional assistance in passing the new GHSWT; therefore, students should take the test seriously, said THS Assistant Principal Lynn Cato.

Questions may be directed to the THS guidance office or to Mrs. Cato at 986-4200.
