THOMSON, Ga.- Mrs. Monnie E. Robinson entered into rest Sunday, January 23, 2005 at McDuffie Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Robinson, a native of Fayette County, Ala., lived in Richmond County since 1959, was retired as a cook at Gracewood State School & Hospital and was Baptist. She was a member of the 4-H Club winning a state title in 1941 with a prize trip to Chicago.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 11 a.m. from Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road Chapel with Reverend Dr. Bobby Coleman officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
Survivors include her children, Doris (Robert) Abernathy, Sr., Modoc, S.C., Patricia (Eddie) Williams, Hephzibah, William "Bill" (Donna) Robinson, Jr., Hephzibah, Linda (Bob) Drake, Burke County, and Bobby (Pam) Robinson, Sr. also of Burke County.; grandchildren, George Bales, Melinda Gay, Pete, Mason and Jason McCall, Bobby Robinson Jr., Patrick Robinson, April Crump, Gregory Clary, Manda Cawthon, Robert Abernathy Jr., Lynn Turner, Donna Abernathy and 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Harrison, Tennessee, Hattie Howton, Florida, and brother, Curt Howton, of Berry, Ala.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth McCall and grandchild, Billy Robinson, brothers, Clarence, Cecil, George and Bobby Joe; sisters, Clara, Ruby, Addie and Ruth.
