On Friday, Jan. 23, Thomson Middle School held its annual spelling bee in preparation for the county-wide competition. Representatives from language arts classes were selected by teachers through classroom bees or other methods. Contestants in this year's TMS Spelling Bee were:

Christopher Kitchens was the school-level victor. Stuart Strouble placed second at the school level. Grade-level winners advanced to the county-wide competition.
