Ms. Charlotte Williams Hill of Stockbridge, Ga., proudly announces the engagement of her daughter TurKesha LaJuan to Marc A. Willis, the son of Ms. Janita Smith of Philadelphia, Pa.
The bride-elect, a native of Thomson, is the granddaughter of Mr. J.T. Williams and the late Lizzie Rebecca Story-Williams and Mr. and Mrs. John Jackson and the great-granddaughter of the late Mary Jane Story, all of Thomson. Miss Jackson, a graduate of Thomson High School, holds a bachelor's degree in English from Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Ala. She is a case manager with CorVel Corporation of Duluth in Employment and Vocational Rehabilitation Services, serving Region V Department of Family and Children Services and the Atlanta Regional Veterans Administration.
The groom-elect, a native of Philadelphia, Pa., is the grandson of the late Mary Elizabeth Willis of Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Willis, graduate of St. John Neumann High School holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Md., and a masters of journalism in journalism, public relations and advertising from Temple University in Philadelphia. He is a journalist with NBC Affiliate, WPXI Channel 11 News in Pittsburgh, Pa.
A candlelight ceremony will be held Oct. 4, 2008, at 6 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Thomson.
