Briarwood Academy football players still don't know who will be at the helm for the coming season, but according to Athletic Director Clayton Parish, the Bucs should be a lot closer to having a new coach by the end of this week.
"We'll probably have some discussion about all the candidates sometime this week, and hopefully we'll be able to offer the job to somebody sometime this week," he said. "That's what we would like to see happen."
Because several of the candidates are on staff at other schools, Coach Parish didn't want to release their names. He did release the name of one candidate that has already been interviewed, and it's a name that is familiar to Bucs fans.
The search committee interviewed current Briarwood Assistant Coach Josh Morey last Friday. Coach Parish said the committee also interviewed three additional candidates on Monday.
He added that Monday's round of interviews were the final ones for the committee.
