Pre-K registration is next week at Maxwell, Dearing
Registration days for the public school Lottery-funded Pre-K programs at Dearing Elementary and Maxwell Elementary are Feb. 12-16 during normal school hours. After-hours registration will be available on Feb. 13 from 5-7 p.m. for those parents who are unavailable to register their child during normal school hours. Parents are welcome to come to the school assigned to their zone during this time to drop off their complete registration packet. A complete registration packet includes:
Child's social security number/card
Proof of Residency: Parents must have a copy of lease/rental agreement or property tax statement, as well as a utility bill such as gas, electric, or water. No cable or phone bills will be accepted.
Certified copy of birth certificate
Optional: Georgia Certificate of Immunization called GA Form 3231 is not required for registration, but is required within 30 days of entering Pre-K. (Required health forms may be obtained from your family physician, Ft. Gordon medical personnel or the McDuffie County Health Department.)
Optional: Georgia Certificate of Eye, Ear, and Dental Examination also called "3-point screening" (GA. Form 3300) is not required for registration but is required within 90 days of entering Pre-K.
Once the deadline for submission of registration packets has passed, a drawing will be held at each school to determine enrollment in each of the programs. Packets not received before the February 16th registration deadline will not be included in the drawing. The drawing at both schools will be held on Feb. 21 at 2 p.m.
Please note that due to reorganization of the grade distribution at McDuffie County elementary schools, there will be no Pre-K registration at Thomson Elementary School.
