GROVETOWN, Ga. - Mrs. Ella Hardy James, loving wife of 56 years of John James, Sr., answered the call to go to her heavenly home on Monday, January 29, 2007, at her residence.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 3, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Platt's Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. Jack Crane and the Rev. Jonathan Randall officiating. Burial followed in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. James loved the Lord and adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to sing and share her musical gifts. She was a faithful member of Morning Star Congregational Holiness Church.
In addition to her husband, John James, Sr., she is survived by her three sons, John James, Jr., and his wife, Kathy, of Grovetown, Timothy James, and wife, Ateena, of North Augusta, and Clifford James of Baker, La., her two daughters, Cathie James McNutt, and husband, Gerald, of Grovetown and Susan James of Grovetown, her brothers, Clay Hardy of Grovetown, Richard Axon of Sylvester, Ga., and Carl Axon of Thomson, and a sister, Frances Newby of Dearing. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Willard Hardy, Pierce Hardy, Curtis Hardy, and William Hardy and a grandson, Benjamin Matthew James.
Pallbearers were Kerry Hannon, Lamar Rollins, Doug James, Darryl James, Scott Bussey and Rick Bussey.
