AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. William B. "Bill, Brad" Williams, 66, of Augusta, entered into rest on Saturday afternoon, February 4, 2006 at Portsbridge Hospice.
A native of Augusta, Mr. Williams' Naval career took him away from the area until moving to Thomson in 1987 where he resided until moving back to Augusta in 2001. He retired from the U.S. Navy, as an E-6, SFC, in 1975 while stationed in Norfolk, VA. Immediately following his retirement, Mr. Williams worked as a Plumber and Pipefitter in the Norfolk area and for the FL Park Service in St. Augustine, and Daytona Beach, Fla. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed his woodworking and furniture making while living in Thomson, which he shared with family and friends.
He is the son of the late Kenneth and Lillian Williams and was raised by his Aunt Nellie Williams, formerly of Augusta; who currently resides in Weedsport, NY. Additional survivors include his wife of 47 years, Fran Williams, Augusta; two sons, William Bradford Williams, Jr., Thomson, and Daniel Sean Williams, Augusta; two daughters, Maureen Graham, and husband, Todd, Jackson, MI and Patricia Cahoon, and husband Henry, Chesapeake, Va.; one sister, Lois Sease, Thomson, and five grandchildren, Brandon Cahoon, Christopher Graham, Megan Cahoon, Shannon Graham, Elise Williams.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 pm on Thursday, February 9, 2006 in the Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, Ga. Full military honors were accorded at the funeral home. Interment followed at a later date.
