WARRENTON, Ga.-- Mr. Roland V. McCoy, Sr., 78 of Warrenton, entered into rest January 31, 2005 at McDuffie Regional Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Ann D. McCoy.
Survivors include, wife, Ann D. McCoy of Warrenton, Ga.; sons, Roland V. (Sam) McCoy and wife, Becky of Moultrie, Ga. and Charles Daniel (Danny) McCoy of Thomson, Ga.; daughters, Rosanna M. Wren and husband, Preston of Greenwood, Louisiana and Phyllis M. Giddens and husband, Steve of Warrenton; brothers, George W. McCoy of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Calvin McCoy of Gibson; sisters, Evie M. Herold of Tallahasee, Fla. and Patsy Ferqueron of Hudson, Fla. and grandchildren, Kent Wren, Chris Wren, Jason McCoy , Eric McCoy, Steve McCoy, Stephanie M. Mitchell, Jeremy McCoy, and Shane McCoy and twelve great-grandchildren.
Mr. McCoy was a lifelong resident of Warren County. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #6672, Thomson. Mr. McCoy served as a SSGT in the 82nd Airborne Division during WW II and received the following medals, World War II Victory Medal and an Army Occupation Medal.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 3, 2005 at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Dr. James M. Ramsey officiating.
Pallbearers were grandsons.

Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
