The team works through their routine.

The Thomson Competitive Bulldogs recently came away from an Atlanta competition with some serious hardware.
The competitive cheerleading team won the Cheersport Georgia State Championship at the Georgia World Congress Center.
But the big trophy didn't come without a struggle: In the weeks leading up to the Jan. 30 competition, team member Lindsay Finuf broke her arm in a golf car accident and then Brandy Jenkins sprained her knee on the way to the competition, according to a press release from the team.
Both injuries required the team to modify their routine and caused some team members to learn new skills at the last minute. For example, Steve Edison had never even attempted a "straight up extended lib," but nailed it in competition. And Taylor Smith had even more stunts to learn and perform.
Up next for the team is the national competition, scheduled for Feb. 18 and 19. There, the Competitive Bulldogs will have to compete against more than 900 teams from all over the nation.

The Bulldogs Booster club, a group of parents has already raised the $1,500 entry fee for the national competition, but they still need money for transportation and lodging. Any sponsor interested in supporting the girls would be greatly appreciated. Thomson Competitive Bulldogs is a program of the McDuffie County Recreation Gymnastic and Cheerleading program.
