THOMSON, Ga.- Mr. Bennie New of Longleaf Drive, Thomson, Ga. entered into rest Jan. 31, 2004 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Eva M. New, Florida; sons, Donald New, Augusta, Ga., James New, Thomson, Ga. and Frank New; daughters, Susi New Waugh, Columbia, S.C.; brothers, Lloyd New, Louisville, Ga., Joe New, North Port, Fla.; sisters, Evelyn Athey, Jacksonville, Fla., Thelma (Nicki) Petitt, Long Island, Ga., three grandchildren, William Russell Waugh, Nicholi New and Connie New.
Mr. New was born in Lyons, Ga. but had lived in Thomson, Ga. since 1956. He served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt. during the Korean Conflict and was a Methodist.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Harden's Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Harden's Chapel Cemetery Fund or to the Thomson Lion's Club.
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
