DEARING, Ga.- Mrs. Betty Ann McCorkle, 52, beloved wife of Mr. Charles McCorkle of Fort Creek Church Road, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at her residence.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, in the Fort Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Phillip Bray and Rev. Boyd Reeves officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. McCorkle was a native of Homerville, Ga., but had lived in Dearing for many years. She was employed at McCorkle's Nurseries. She was a member of Fort Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Charles McCorkle, Dearing; two sons, Travis (Sharon) McCorkle, Dearing, and Charles Phil (Sandy) McCorkle, Dearing; two daughters, Sandy Shurling, Dearing, and Toni (Wayne) Erkens, Thomson; two sisters, Hazel Dent, Broxton, and Shirley Powers, Sylvester; a brother, David Frazier, Moultrie; and 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were David Huff, Kenneth Huff, Danile McClure, Gene Hobbs, Don McCorkle and Jack McCorkle.
Donations may be made to the St. Joseph Hospice or to the Fort Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
