Mr. Jack Thornton
Retired Military Police

DEARING, Ga.- Mr. Jack Thornton, 76, widower of Mrs. Joyce Thornton, of Mattie Harrison Road, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, in the Eisenhower Army Medical Center.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 4, in the Curtis Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Kenny Walker and Todd Upchurch officiating. Burial was in Fort Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Thornton was a native of Carroll County and was born in Carrollton, Ga., where he entered the Army in 1945. He was a veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

Survivors include two sons, one daughter, two stepsons, one stepdaughter and 15 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Barry Hawkins, Steven Hawkins, and his grandsons, Bob Clark, Brett Clark, Michael Pardue and Ben McPherson.

Donations may be made to the Dearing Baptist Building fund.

Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
