Mr. and Mrs. Robert Edward Knox, Jr., of Thomson, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Mary Ann Knox to Oliver Roane Cross, III.
Mr. Cross is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Roane Cross, Jr., of Winston-Salem, N.C. The wedding will be held April 28, 2007, at First United Methodist Church in Thomson.
Miss Knox is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Walker Meadows and the late Mrs. Mary Ann Roach Meadows of Cochran, Ga., and Mrs. Robert Edward Knox and the late Mr. Robert Edward Knox of Thomson. She attended Thomson High School and the University of Georgia where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor of science degree in psychology. Currently, Miss Knox is a fourth year medical student at The Medical College of Georgia and will pursue a career as a pediatrician.
Mr. Cross is the grandson of Mrs. Thomas Eli Joyner, Jr., and the late Mr. Thomas Eli Joyner, Jr., of Farmville, N.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Roane Cross of Asheville, N.C. He is a graduate of R. J. Reynolds High School and Davidson College where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish and was a member of the golf team and the Kappa Alpha Order. Presently, he is employed by Trusco Capital Management as an Investment Manager.
