Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a Mason.

A memorial service was held in the Williams Cemetery in Uvalda, Ga., on Sunday, February 11, 2007, where his last wishes were to have his ashes spread over his ancestors dating back to the early 1800s.

His family of aunts and uncles in Uvalda, Lyons, and Vidalia were so very kind and loved him very much. Family meant everything to him. He was especially proud to be a descendent of the Cherokee Native Americans.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Stroke Association, P.O. Box 409410, Atlanta, Ga. 30384.
