Healthy lawn seminar Feb. 28 at local library

Get ready to have a beautiful lawn this summer by attending the upcoming "Lawn Seminar."

County Agent Frank Watson and local Master Gardeners are putting together a program which should be of interest to anyone trying to improve their lawn.

The seminar will be the Thomson-McDuffie County Library. The plan is to have the program during lunch hour. The program will start promptly at 12:10 on Tuesday, Feb. 28 and last about 30 minutes. This should allow people to come to the seminar during their lunch hour without having to take any time off work. Bring your sack lunch and eat during the program.

Most people are not concerned about having a Southern Living type manicured yard but it seems everyone wants their lawn to be healthy. There are things you can do to have that healthy lawn without having to take out a second mortgage on your house. Come get informed on proper lawn management. The important thing is proper planning. It's much easier (and cheaper) to maintain a healthy lawn than to try to revive one after it has started to decline.

While time will be limited, you are still encouraged to bring your questions. Often the most meaningful part of a program like this is the question and answer time.

Because the program will move quickly, we plan to have handouts which participants can take home for future reference. Please call the Extension Office at 595-1815 to pre-register for the lawn seminar. Your call will help us to better prepare with handouts, seating and other arrangements.
