MATTHEWS, Ga.- Mr. Jack Brown Oliphant, Sr., age 94, of Anderson-Oliphant Road, entered into rest Feb. 3, 2004 at McDuffie Regional Medical Center, Thomson.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 at Ways Baptist Church, Stellaville, Ga. at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Turpin and Rev. Allen Holbrook officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Oliphant was a native of Jefferson County, a World War II Army veteran, and a member of Ways Baptist Church. He had retired as a meat cutter, farmer and was also the owner of Thomson Packing Company in Thomson.
Survivors include four sons, Jack B. Oliphant Jr., Thomson, Billy Oliphant, Grovetown, Tommy Oliphant, Warrenton, and David Oliphant, Thomson; two daughters Barbara Hefner and Dianne Norris, both of Thomson; one brother Harry Oliphant, Hephzibah, Ga.; one sister Dorothy Godwin, Plains , Ga.; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Joshua Hefner, Phillip Story, Zack Norris, Alan Oliphant, Brian Oliphant, and Mike Oliphant.

Lowe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
