More than 100 area Girl Scouts and their dads attended the Third Annual Father/Daughter Ball on Feb. 7th at Dearing Elementary School. Girl Scouts from Pre-K to high school age arrived in their formal wear to have dinner and a dance with the most important guys in their lives, their dads.
Part of the Girl Scout Promise is to "help people at all times."
Local businesses did just that when they so willingly sponsored this event. It's very encouraging to see the community support these young ladies, young girls who may become leaders in our community in the future.
We, the Girl Scouts and Girl Scout leaders, would like to offer many thanks to the following businesses who helped make this event possible: Angels Among Us, Romano's, Chalker's, Neal's BBQ, Go Postal, LeeAnn Gurley and Sandra Price at All About Hair, McGahee Clearing and Grading, McGahee Sanitation, Kelley Truss, Kelley Business Printers, Inc., Custom Threads and Embroidery, Thomson Construction, McGahee Bait and Tackle, Axon's Mini Mart, Kent's, The McDuffie Mirror, Big Dawgs Sporting Goods, Pizza Hut, McDuffie Animal Hospital, Fast Lane Lube Change, Sonic, Dearing CafÈ, Subway, Arby's, Gurley's of Warrenton, Balloon Delights, Culpepper Lumber Co. Inc., Reese's Exxon, The Camellia House, and many parents and relatives who donated their time and talents.
