Pre-K registration set to begin March 20

Registration days for the public school lottery-funded Pre-K programs at Dearing Elementary, Thomson Elementary and Maxwell Elementary are March 20-31, 2006. Parents are welcome to come to the school assigned to their zone during normal school hours to drop off their complete registration packet. A complete registration packet includes:
Child's social security number/card
Proof of Residency: Parents must have a copy of lease/rental agreement or property tax statement, as well as a utility bill such as gas, electric, or water. No cable or phone bills will be accepted.
Certified copy of birth certificate
Georgia Certificate of Immunization to include GA Form 3231. (Required health forms may be obtained from your family physician, Ft. Gordon medical personnel or the McDuffie County Health Department.)
Optional: Georgia Certificate of Eye, Ear, and Dental Examination also called "3-point screening" (GA. Form 3300) is not required for registration but is required within 12 months of entering kindergarten.
Once the deadline for submission of registration packets has passed, drawings will be held at each school to determine enrollment in each of the programs. Only children with complete registration packets will be allowed to participate in the drawing for available Pre-K program slots. Packets not received before the March 31st registration deadline will not be included in the drawing. Drawings will be held:
Dearing Elementary: April 11
Maxwell Elementary: April 12
Thomson Elementary: April 13
