THOMSON, Ga. -- Mrs. Ruby McElreath Patrick, 87, widow of Mr. Walter B. Patrick, died Tuesday, February 15, 2005, in the Thomson Manor Nursing Facility.
Graveside services were held Friday, February 18, in the Westview Cemetery with the Rev. E. Brent Turner, Associate Pastor of Devenger Road Presbyterian Church, Greer, SC, and Rev. John L. Cook, Senior Pastor, Thomson Presbyterian Church officiating.
Mrs. Patrick was born in Cartersville, Ga, March 7, 1917 and had lived a number of years as a homemaker in Ficklin, Wilkes County, Ga. She lived in Thomson for most of her adult life. She was an active member of the Thomson Presbyterian Church for 63 years. She was married for 68 years to the late Walter B. Patrick.
Survivors include one son, Lt. Gen. (Retired) Burton DeWayne Patrick (Patricia); two daughters, Mrs. Rita Patrick Hodgin (Jay) and Mrs. Bonnie Patrick Johnson (Charles) , all of Thomson; six grandchildren, Jay Lynn Hodgin (Brenda), Walter Scott Hodgin, Margaret Grae Hodgin Turner (Brent), Burton DeWayne Patrick, Jr. (Susan), Thomas DeWayne Johnson and Walter Lee Johnson; eight great-grandchildren, Caitlin Paige Patrick, Scott Allen Hodgin (Mary Beth), Whitney Hodgin Koehn (Dennis), Joshua Scott Hodgin (Stephanie), Graeson Faith Turner, Jesse Brent Turner, Rebecca Lynne Johnson and Shirah Leigh Johnson; three great-great-grandchildren, Ansley Paige Koehn, Sade Lauren Koehn and Jackson Scott Hodgin and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were her grandsons and great-grandson.
