DEARING, Ga. -- Mrs. Ruth Chastain Epps of Dearing, entered into rest February 20, 2005 at University Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Sterling A. Epps.
Survivors include two sons, Curtis Epps (Brenda), Evans and S. Wayne Epps, Sr. (Merry), Lincolnton; three daughters, Barbara Epps, Clarks Hill, SC, Cathy Kitchens (James), Dearing and Carol Pitts (Neal), Dearing; brother, Lawrence Chastain, Macon; sister, Janelle Vining, Savannah, 15 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Epps was born in Oglethorpe County but lived in Richmond and McDuffie County most of her life. She worked at Gracewood for over 12 years, worked with McDuffie County Youth Probation Services for over six years and worked with the Thomson Senior Center. Mrs. Epps also played tapes for Michael Guido Ministry "A Seed From The Sower" for 18 years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 24 , 2005 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Upchurch officiating. Interment followed in Bellevue Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Wayne Epps, Jr., Mike Reed, Elliot Fulmer, Brian Epps, Bruce Tanner and Trey Epps.
