Mrs. Corrine C. Poss DEARING, Ga. -- Mrs. Corrine C. Poss, 66, of Dearing, entered into rest February 19, 2005, at Doctors Hospital. Survivors include two sons, Barney W. Poss, Jr., Dearing, James Poss, Dearing; two daughters, Judy P. Thornton, Dearing, Jackie P. Shelton, Metasville, Ga.; brother, Don Murphy, Yukon, Okla.; sister, Mary Long, Loves Park, Ill.; and eight grandchildren, William Thornton, Dawn Thornton, Lora Thornton, Nicholas Shelton, Levi Shelton, Charles Shelton, Kevin Shelton and Brandy Helton. Mrs. Poss was born in Nebraska, but lived in Lincoln County and McDuffie County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late James Joseph Murphy and the late Katherine Murray Murphy. Mrs. Poss was also retired as a grader from Clark Schwebel and a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Thomson. Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Thomson, with Father Edward O'Connor as celebrant.
