Competitive Dogs take second in national event

During their first year of competition, the Thomson Competitive Bulldog Team, or TCB, finished second in their division at the 2005 Cheersport National Cheer and Dance Championship held recently at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

The 15 members of the Thomson team competed in the category of "Recreation Junior Novice" and scored 811.5 points in two days of competition, seven points behind the winners - ICA Vikings.

Director Laura Adams said teams from 34 states, including Alaska and Hawaii, competed, as well as a team from England.

Mrs. Adams said the biggest benefit of the program is not winning but watching them come together as a team. She said the team is now a Senior Novice Recreation team, and she hopes to have two or three teams next year.

For information about the team or how to get involved, contact Mrs. Adams at 595-8182.
