Susan Brooke Walden and John Ashley Yarbrough, both of Savannah, were married at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at the Hilton Oceanfront Resort, Hilton Head Island. Neil Smith officiated the ceremony.
Brooke is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Brooks Walden of Thomson. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Ludolph Hall and Mrs. Cleo Rayfield and the late Mr. Robert Hayden Walden, all of Thomson.
John is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul William "Dusty" Yarbrough, Jr. of Savannah. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Barker and Mrs. Paul William Yarbrough, Sr. and the late Mr. Yarbrough.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
Brooke chose her childhood friend, Brooke Barnes-Garner of Savannah, as her matron of honor.
John chose his son, John Ashley Yarbrough, Jr., as his best man.
Following the ceremony a beautiful reception was held at the Walker Mansion in historic downtown Savannah. The newlyweds spent their honeymoon on a seven-day cruise touring the western Caribbean. They reside in Savannah.
