First Baptist Church of Thomson recently voted to call a new pastor.
Dr. James Ramsey, who has been the pastor of First Baptist of Albany, Ga. for 17 years, will start at FBC of Thomson on Easter Sunday, April 11.
"After talking with the people there, we believe in our hearts it was the thing that God wants us to do," Dr. Ramsey said.
Also a former pastor of First Baptist of Monroe, Ga., Dr. Ramesy said that he is excited to come to Thomson, and that he looks forward to the challenges of beginning his ministry here.
"Any time you move to a new church, you have to first of all learn more about the strengths and growth areas of that church," Dr. Ramsey said. "I will learn about those and together the church family and myself will put our heads together and seek God's leadership."
