Mr. John W. Fanning Sr.
Retired Salesman
THOMSON, Ga.- Mr. John W. Fanning Sr., 94, widower of Mrs. Georgia Fanning, of Thomson died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, in Doctors Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 1, 2004, in the Curtis Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Walter Pledger officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery.
Mr. Fanning was a native of Thomson and had retired as a salesman. He was a member of Young Memorial United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia K. Fanning and a daughter, Jane Fanning. He is survived by a son, John Fanning Jr., and daughter-in-law, Jean Fanning, Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Brenda Newman and son-in-law, Eddy Newman, Evans; four grandchildren, Tom and Laura Fanning, both of Panama City, Angela Shay, Evans and Sharon Near, Charleston; two sisters, Mary Fanning and Sarah Hunt, both of Thomson; a brother, Edgar Fanning, Augusta; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
