AUGUSTA, Ga.- Betty Ivey Fountain, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Feb. 27, 2004.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Alvin (Jack) Fountain.
She was a life-long resident of Augusta. Mrs. Fountain was a member of Grace Baptist Fellowship in Augusta. After her retirement from Civil Service at Fort Gordon, she spent her last 12 years in full time Christian Service. Some of the ministries she was involved in include LOTS Ministry, Red Cross Disaster Relief, Ladies Prison Ministry, Adult Literacy, Augusta Rescue Mission, Friendship Force Augusta, Augusta Urban Ministries, Child Enrichment Child Abuse Center, Habitat for Humanity, Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, Master's Table, Christian Women's Club, Orphanage Emanuel in Honduras, Westside Ministries in Honduras.
Beloved by all who knew her, Mrs. Fountain is survived by two sons, Lewis Sibley (Jack) Fountain and his wife, Laura, North Augusta, Jeffry William Fountain a nd his wife Lois, Augusta and two daughters, Carol Fountain Colclough and her husband, Benny, Thomson, Glenda Fountain Atkins and her husband, Larry, Martinez. Gaga will be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren, Pat Fountain, Trey Fountain, Ashley Fountain, Wes Colclough, Brian Atkins, Casey Colclough and Tye Colclough and three great grandchildren, Nyima Colclough, Hadley Grace Fountain and Faith Fountain.
Memorial Services celebrating the life of Betty Fountain will be held at 3 p.m., March 13, 2004, at Grace Baptist Fellowship, Sibley Road, Augusta.
