DEARING, Ga.- Entered into rest Feb. 29, 2004 at his residence on Randall Hunt Road in Dearing, Ret. SFC Donald Slaughter, 70, husband of Anna Marie Noonan Slaughter and preceded in death his son, Richard D. Slaughter.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta, with the Reverend Todd Upchurch officiating with full military honors.
Mr. Slaughter was born in Aiken, S.C., and attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Dearing. He was a Retired Army Veteran serving in Korea and Vietnam.
In addition to his wife, survivors include five sons, John Thomas Slaughter, Aiken, S.C., James David Slaughter, Dearing, Robert Donald Slaughter, Michael Lee Slaughter both of Augusta, Bernard Anthony Slaughter, Aiken, S.C.; one daughter, Melissa Marques of Dearing; one sister, Edna Deakin, Jacksonville, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were military.
Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
