Thomson boys lose in elite eight

The Thomson boys basketball team had their bid to make the state playoffs' final four cut short by Region 4-AAA's two seed, West Laurens, on March 3. The fourth seeded Bulldogs from Region 3-AAA fell 53-56 in the elite eight of the AAA playoffs.

On the night before, Thomson advanced to the elite eight with a 79-74 win against Region 1-AAA two seed Westover in the second round of the playoffs at Columbus State University.

After missing out on state playoff action last season, and despite finishing fourth in the region this season, the Bulldogs ended the year with a 20-11 record.
