WAYNESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Evelyn Martin Mobley Flake, 96, died Thursday, March 3, 2005.
A native of Burke County, she was a life long resident of the Greenscut community. Mrs. Flake was the daughter of the late Luther Martin and Emily Collins Martin. She was the widow of the late Owen Mobley and the late W. L. Flake. She was the oldest living member of the Greenscut United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Flake was preceded in death by her daughter, Emma Ruth Mobley Salemi; her sisters Beatrice Martin McNorrill of Waynesboro; Mae Martin Saxon of Greenscut; and Lorena Martin Usher of Greenscut.
Survivors include one son and one daughter-in-law, Thomas Lovett Mobley and Kay Mobley of Thomson; a brother Jerry Miller Martin (Estelle) of Greenscut and a sister Elizabeth Martin McNorrill of Savannah, eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday March 6, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home in Waynesboro with Dr. Francis Ford officiating. Interment was in Magnolia Cemetery in Waynesboro.
Pallbearers were Jay Salemi, Mike Salemi, Chris Salemi, Andy Salemi, Jamie Henning and Steven Henning.
