The Thomson Middle FFA Floriculture Team recently won the Area 4 FFA Junior Floriculture Career Development Event. The event was held at Swainsboro High School on Feb. 15. Team members were Aaron Dixon, Cristina Anderson, Cullen Wallace, and Gil Usry. Individually, Aaron Dixon placed first and Cristina Anderson placed third in the competition. The team demonstrated their knowledge of floriculture and bedding plants and completed a written test over general horticulture information. The team will compete for state honors on March 19 at the State FFA Camp in Covington, along with the chapter's nursery/landscape team which placed second in area competition.
Steve Kay is the Thomson Middle FFA advisor.
